Colby-Abbotsford, Clark County officers investigating double homicide

ABBOTSFORD – On Friday, July 5, shortly after noon, Alex Bowman, Chief of Police for the Colby-Abbotsford Police Department, issued the following press release:
“On July 5, 2024, at 1:38 a.m. Clark County Communications received a 911 call of an incident at 303 E. Oak Street, Lot No. 5 in the city of Abbotsford, Clark County.
The Colby-Abbotsford Police Department and Clark County Deputies responded to the scene. Officers located one injured victim who was transported to the hospital for injuries. Two deceased victims were found inside the residence by officers. A lone suspect was apprehended at the crime scene and is in custody receiving medical treatment at the Marshfield hospital (Marshfield Medical Center). The suspect will be transported to the Clark County jail upon medical clearance.
The Colby-Abbotsford Police Department and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office are conducting the investigation. They are assisted by the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations, Wisconsin State Crime Lab, Wisconsin State Patrol, Clark County Coroner’s office and the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office.
No other information will be released at this time. The names of the victims are not being released at this time until all family members have been properly notified.”
