MMS gymnastics team vaults into new season

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Middle School gymnastics squad traveled to Tomah Jan. 8 for its first meet of the season. This was a dual meet and Marshfield had six athletes competing, while Tomah had eleven.
Marshfield’s Leeann Luedtke took first place in the Vault (9.8), while teammates Kaylee Fredrick and Journey Voight were part of a three-way tie for second place (9.7). Kelsey Wray was a fifth-place finisher (9.5).
Placing first on Bars was Marshfield’s Kaylee Fredrick (9.0). Leeann Luedtke grabbed a second-place finish for the Tigers (8.9), while Voight finished in fourth place (8.6) and Kelsey Wray took fifth (8.5).
MHS Alumnus, Hanna Merkel, served as the judge for bar routines.
On Beam, Luedtke ended up in a first-place tie (8.9), while Wray tied for third place (8.7). Voight finished fifth (8.65).
In the Floor Exercise, Fredrick grabbed another first-place finish for the Tigers (8.0), followed by Luedtke in second place (7.8), Voight in third (7.7), Constance Opsal in fourth place (7.6) and Wray in fifth (7.5).
Marshfield’s next meet will be Monday, Jan. 22 at Mosinee at 5:30 p.m.
