MARSHFIELD — Stratford’s Riley Bauman is receiving recognition from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for his work with the St. Mary’s of Winona baseball team this spring.

Riley is all-conference honorable mention after compiling a solid season in the spring of 2023. He started all 35 games for St. Mary’s this season, and hit .336, with six doubles, two triples, a team-leading five home runs and a team-high 26 RBIs. Riley also compiled a .541 slugging percentage, a .407 on-base percentage and was only charged with three errors in 54 chances in center field.

Bauman was also one of five Saint Mary’s University baseball players who earned College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District® honors.

The 2023 Academic All-District® Baseball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Athletes must carry a 3.50 grade-point-average on a 4.0 scale — while completing at least one full calendar year at the institution — have appeared in 50 percent of the team’s contests, and made a significant impact on the field of competition to be eligible.

Bauman, a General Studies major with a 3.52 GPA, closed out his sophomore season as the only Cardinal to start all 35 games. He also stole 12 bases on 13 attempts.
Riley will be a junior at St. Mary’s in the fall of 2023.
