Silent Crows Antiques

Silent Crow Antiques is to have a grand opening Saturday, August 20th at 401 Central Avenue, on the corner of 4th-and-Central.

Julie Burton, behind the counter of her new store, Silent Crows Antiques, at the corner of 4th-and-Central in downtown Marshfield.

The building is easy to find with the signature red and white striped awning over the door.

The owner, Julie Burton, has been working on getting the store decorated and completed for opening for the last month, and is excited to get the store opened and invite people inside. The grand opening will consist of door prizes, gift certificates, and refreshments. The store will be open from Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The store is decorated almost like a home, with a dining room set and décor when you enter the building through the corner door, and kitchen sets next to the dining room items as well. Each area has its own set of items that go together to make it look like a room in a house. The counter includes glass dishes amongst other items Burton has collected throughout the years.

Before opening her own store, Julie worked at a store in Marshfield when she moved five years ago, and managed it for some time as well. Her knowledge in antiques help tell the story of many items in her store. “I’ve been doing this for probably 40 years, and I’ve got pieces at home that I’ve had that long,” said Burton when asked how long she has been collecting antiques. When asked about some of the items she will sell at the store, Burton explained, “We have some people who make things … my son-in-law makes the jewelry, the hand-blown glass.” Many of the items in the store are given to her by vendors. If you are a vendor and would like to have items shown there you can contact Julie at 715-305-9446 to get more information. With time, Julie hopes to purchase the store next door as well to expand Silent Crows Antiques and make the store larger to have room for more vendors.
