WOOD COUNTY – A Marshfield woman was injured when she failed to yield for an oncoming truck. The crash occurred on June 29 at 8:02 p.m. at the intersection of Highways 173 and GG in the township of Port Edwards.

According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, an SUV driven by the 35-year-old woman was traveling on Hwy. G when she failed to yield the right-of-way to a truck on Hwy. 173, driven by a 47-year-old man from Lewistown, PA.

The woman was transported via Life Link III helicopter to the Marshfield Medical Center, where she remained hospitalized at last word. The driver of the truck was treated at the scene and released.

No names have been released. The crash remains under investigation.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Nekoosa and Port Edwards Police Departments, Wisconsin Rapids Ambulance Service, Nekoosa Fire Department, Town of Port Edwards first responders, and Wood County Rescue.
