In honor of mom: Local event to celebrate mothers

By Kris Leonhardt
MARSHFIELD – In honor of local mothers, Discovery Education Station is hosting a “Mom’s Pampering Party” on April 23, 1-4 p.m., at the 2nd Street Community Center in Marshfield.
Organizer Linda Roehrborn-Rodriguez said that the event is designed to celebrate “our moms past, present, and future” and is a nod to her own mother, who recently passed away.
“My mom passed away last year and I wanted to do something to celebrate and honor her. She was an amazing mom, just like so many Moms that are not recognized or pampered enough out there in our community,” Roehrborn-Rodriguez said.
“I wanted moms to have a nice day, relax and experience something new. We will have beauty vendors, fitness gurus, party hosts and wellness leaders all from our local community coming to share their passions with Moms. Right now we have 25 vendors coming to give moms an awesome afternoon.”
In addition to the over two dozen vendors, a fitness segment schedule will run in 10-minute increments, 1-3:30 p.m.
“My mom will always have a special place in my heart because she gave me a comfort and warmth that is irreplaceable..,” Roehrborn-Rodriguez added
