MARSHFIELD – The city of Marshfield is reminding the public that all winter decorations, containers, and other adornments at Hillside Cemetery must be removed by April 1, for the annual spring clean-up.

Staff will discard any remaining items beginning April 1.

“Summer decorations may be placed beginning April 11. Decorations must be placed on or in line with (to the side of) headstones and must not cause an obstruction for maintenance. It is strongly encouraged that any items/decorations of great monetary or emotional value be protected in a safe place outside of the public cemetery grounds where they cannot be lost, stolen, damaged or removed for any reason,” city staff said in a release.

For a complete list of cemetery rules and fall & spring clean-up dates, visit the Hillside Cemetery website at https://ci.marshfield.wi.us

Due to the spring thaw, cemetery staff asks that all vehicles visiting the cemetery stay on paved surfaces to avoid turf damage.

For more information, contact the cemetery office at 715-486-2098 or [email protected].
