MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield community is invited to bring confidential papers for shredding to the Marshfield branch of Prevail Bank.

The free event will take place Tuesday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

For every pound of paper shredded, Prevail Bank will donate a dollar, up to $1,000, to the Personal Development Center. PDC is a private, non-profit victim services agency proving case management, advocacy and prevention education to individuals and families in the north

Wood County and Clark County area. The agency has served the community since 1977 and has a history of identifying and addressing needs within an atmosphere of confidentiality and concern.

“From an identity theft perspective, shredding confidential information is very important,” said Taylor Doescher, Prevail Bank Manager. “I hope everyone takes advantage of this opportunity.”

According to Experian, identity theft affects about 1 in 20 Americans each year, and it’s rising rapidly.

Every Prevail Bank location chose a different nonprofit. If every branch shreds at least 1,000 pounds, Prevail Bank will be donating a total of $9,000.
