Why did you choose UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield?
I chose UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield because I wanted to stay close to home. With this, I save money and still get a great education. I am so happy I chose UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield.
What surprised you the most about the university when you arrived on campus?
I was surprised how personable and fun our professors and staff are! I also was surprised how easily you can get involved on campus.
How or when did you discover your purpose? How did UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield faculty/staff help?
I discovered my purpose in high school, as I took many classes about teaching and children. It was a ‘no brainer’ that I wanted to become a teacher. UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield faculty and staff have helped me choose my classes and help me strive to do my best in all my classes and clubs.
Why did you choose your program/major?
I have always had a passion working with children. Stevens Point is ranked high nationally for the education program, so UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield was a great place to start my education to pursue my degree.
Who has been your favorite professor or staff member?
All the staff and professors are amazing at what they do, but I always look forward to Professor Martin Lee’s class. I always struggled in math, and he makes it easy for me to understand. He has been my math professor for two semesters, and he is one of the best math teachers I have had!
In addition to being a college student, what takes up your free time?
When I am not in classes, I work as a student ambassador and I am part of Student Senate. When I’m not in school I enjoy hanging out with my friends and family as well as running.
What do you plan to do after attending UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield?
I plan to attend the main campus UW-Stevens Point.
To make the most of their college experience, what advice do you have for incoming students?
I recommend getting involved on campus. The campus has many clubs, work/study hours, and activities to do. I met my whole friend group through my involvement in student activities. Don’t be afraid to try something new.
