Man arrested after overnight standoff in Marshfield

MARSHFIELD –A man is in custody after an overnight standoff in the city of Marshfield.
On March 6, at around 5:18 p.m., Marshfield police officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 2200 block of South Maple Avenue.
“A 25-year-old male was reported to be intoxicated and creating a disturbance at a residence. The male was reported to have held a knife to the throat of another male inside the residence,” a Marshfield police department release stated.
“The male victim was able to leave the residence and contacted our department. Officers maintained a perimeter and attempted contact with the male throughout the evening which was unsuccessful.”
On March 7, shortly before 9 a.m., the man exited the residence, where the police made an arrest without further incident.
The male was transported to Wood County Jail and charges of recklessly endangering safety, bail jumping, disorderly conduct, and failure to comply with officer’s attempt to take person into custody were requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
