CENTRAL WISCONSIN – Opportunity Development Centers, Inc. (ODC) President Julie Strenn was recently appointed by Governor Tony Evers as the private provider representative of the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities (BPDD.)

Strenn will serve for three years, with her term expiring July 1, 2025.

The BPDD board is charged with bringing people together to solve problems, remove barriers and create statewide change for the developmental disability community. The board meets six times per year in addition to executive committee meetings and other special events/conferences.

“I am honored and humbled to be appointed by Governor Evers to serve on the BPDD Board of Directors. In my every day work at ODC, we provide supports so that every person can live their best life. It is important to me to extend this to statewide advocacy,” Strenn said.

Strenn joined ODC in December 2019 as executive vice president and transitioned to roll of president Jan. 1, 2021. Prior to that, she provided consulting services to ODC from 2015 through 2019.

Julie has more than 25 years of experience in long-term care, having worked for provider agencies, managed care organizations, and state and local government agencies including the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Inclusa (formerly Community Care of Central Wisconsin), and Wood County.

ODC is a private, nonprofit agency whose mission is to empower people with disabilities to achieve their work and life goals. ODC was founded in 1965 and in 2020 provided supports to over 960 individuals in 12 counties in Central and North Central Wisconsin. ODC has physical locations in Wisconsin Rapids, Stevens Point, and Marshfield.
