MARSHFIELD – Marshfield Area United Way’s annual fundraising campaign kicks off as the organization marks their 75th anniversary in the community.
“While there is much to celebrate from the past 75 years, United Way continues its mission to increase our community’s capacity to care for one another. Helping to lead that effort are Dan and Shauna Dargenio who are taking the lead as Campaign Drive Chairs for the second year,” a United Way release stated.
“We felt that there was some great momentum at the end of last year, payroll giving was up, participation was up, and overall energy was up but with COVID hindering meetings, events, etc. we felt like we could have done more. So, when Ashley asked if we wanted to be Drive Chairs for another year, we were ready and excited for the challenge,” the Dargenio said.
“I still believe the average citizen is unaware of how many programs are funded by United Way. From mothers, elderly, kids, homeless, people suffering from addiction, the list goes on and on. United Way literally touches every part of our community,” Dan added.
Funds raised during this year’s campaign will be distributed in 2022 to United Way partner programs and initiatives right here in the Marshfield area.
“Every dollar given to Marshfield Area United Way makes a local impact helping provide resources to the community, such as: counseling for children, food and clothing, homelessness prevention, advocacy, and support for victims of abuse, mentorship for our youth, and much more,” the release added.
Marshfield Area United Way’s service area encompasses the following communities: Marshfield, Auburndale, Granton, Greenwood, Loyal, Pittsville, Neillsville, Spencer, and Stratford.
Donations can be made to United Way at PO Box 771, Marshfield, WI, 54449 or at marshfieldareaunitedway.org.
