MARSHFIELD – Fire has left a Marshfield home with major damage.

Chief Scott Owen said his crews from the Marshfield Fire & Rescue Department were called to a home at 609 West Fourth Street just before 8 p.m. on July 14, after Marshfield police officers responded to reports of flames shooting out the windows of the home.

He said:

Owen said three residents living there were displaced by the fire. One was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. Owen also says the fire remains under investigation. There is no dollar estimate of the damage at this point. According to the city of Marshfield property information website, the single-story home is owned by Matt & Jen Olson.

Owen said his crews were assisted by the Marshfield Police Department, the Central Rapid Intervention Team, the Hewitt Fire Department, Spencer ambulance, and Wood County Dispatch.

Investigators remained on the scene until 1 a.m.
