Marshfield Area United Way to host two summer kick-off events

MARSHFIELD — Marshfield Area United Way is celebrating the beginning of summer by hosting two events next week.
First, volunteers are needed to participate in the Downtown Cleanup on June 21, 2-4 p.m. This event is partnered with Main Street Marshfield.
Second, Children’s Book Swap will be held on June 24, 2021 10 a.m. – noon.
“Downtown Cleanup is a great event to help beautify the streets of Marshfield and give back to the city we call home. The Downtown Cleanup is a great volunteer opportunity for friends, family, coworkers or groups,” a United Way release stated.

“The second event, Children’s Book Swap, has hundreds of books for your child to choose from to keep reading fun and exciting this summer. Have some older books your kids don’t read any more? Bring them with and swap them out for ‘new’ ones,” the release added.
“Downtown Cleanup Volunteers will gather at Hardacre Park at 2 p.m.to receive a map, garbage bag and gloves. Volunteers will then walk to their street assignment. A light snack and water will be provided.
Children’s Book Swap attendees can meet in the Grant Elementary School, 425 West Upham Street, in the parking lot anytime from 10 a.m. to noon to pick out some picks or drop them off.
