Forward Bank makes donation to Sustainable Marshfield project

MARSHFIELD – Forward Bank recently donated $10,000 for the installation of solar panels at the School District of Marshfield School Forest.
Sustainable Marshfield started fundraising in December 2019 to install solar panels at the Marshfield School Forest to provide a sustainable and renewable energy source along with educational materials for the students. A shared passion for the outdoors and sustainability is the foundation of this project.
“We are happy to support the Leadership Marshfield classes every year,” stated Bill Sennholz, CEO of Forward Bank. “But when we were presented with this solar panel project, we knew that we needed to be involved. Sustainability is a leading influence in moving our communities forward.”
The 20-panel array will provide 100 percent of the electricity demand, promoting increased use of the School Forest facilities and a reduced cost for the School District of Marshfield.
A ribbon cutting event will be hosted by the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce this summer to recognize the Leadership Marshfield team and its main sponsors.
Sustainable Marshfield team members are: Julie Leu-Martinek, Brad Knowles, Ross Gessert, Alex Lendved, and Kelsey Buhr.
