The Summer Salute
Honor Walk is back for a fourth year
By Hub City Times staff
MARSHFIELD – Now in its fourth year, the Marshfield Honor Walk recognizes Marshfield area veterans through banners lining Central Avenue in downtown Marshfield.
The banners are hung from mid-May to mid-November to coincide with Memorial Day and Veterans Day, displaying a different veteran’s photo, branch of service, dates of service, medals/badges earned, and sponsor.
The Honor Walk stretches from Veterans Parkway to Ninth Street on both sides of Central Avenue.
In addition to honoring veterans, the banners raise funds for the American Legion Post 54 and Main Street Marshfield.
The project is coordinated each year by Paul Rogers, Kathy Banks, Gary Cummings, and Mike Feirer.
