MARSHFIELD – The Kiwanis Club of Marshfield was the most recent recipient of Forward Bank’s Charitable Money Market Account (CMMA) program.

This month over $244,000 was donated to organizations participating in the program, bringing the grand total to over $1.2 million since the program launched in 2006. Over 300 different nonprofits, churches, and schools received donations from Forward Bank customers who designated them as their charity of choice.

“We saw many fundraising events altered or cancelled last year leaving a financial gap for local non-profits to maintain their services,” said Dave Clark, President at Forward Bank. “But thanks to the unique structure of our CMMA we’re able to provide a consistent donation stream to participating organizations.”

Forward presented Kiwanis Club of Marshfield with a check for $928.41on behalf of customers participating in the program.

“The Kiwanis Club of Marshfield either sponsors or is involved in many community events that impact children,” says Donna Martin, club president.

The funds will be used to grow Kiwanis events that allow for larger donations towards children’s causes in the community.

To open and maintain a CMMA, all the customer needs to do is open the account, designate a participating nonprofit organization, school, or church, and keep a balance in their account throughout the year.
