MARSHFIELD – Marshfield’s The Hannah Center is receiving assistance through the Legacy Foundation to aid the organization with expansion into the Wisconsin Rapids area.

“Recently The Hannah Center Board of Directors and Wisconsin Rapids Advisory Committee voted to accept a generous grant from the Legacy Foundation,” a Hannah Center release stated.

“With this grant, and the funds previously raised for the expansion, The Hannah Center is approximately $200,000 away from their million dollar goal to open a second location in Wisconsin Rapids. The Legacy Foundation is offering a matching grant up to $200,000 to help The Hannah Center reach their goal. Any monetary donations will be matched dollar for dollar up to $200,000.”

The Wisconsin Rapids Advisory Committee is seeking community support from individuals, organizations and businesses to meet the goal for this matching grant.

“Our Advisory Committee and Board of Directors are excited to serve the Wisconsin Rapids community by providing a home and programming to women and their children in crisis. Our programs assist in ending the cycles of chronic poverty, homelessness, addiction and abuse for a wider impact in our community.  Our hope is that with this matching grant, we will be able to begin finding and securing a location for the expansion this year,” said Hannah Center Program Coordinator Tricia Fancher.

The Hannah Center’s mission is to “assist women and their children in life crisis through compassion and guidance in a nurturing environment.”

For more information or to donate, contact Tricia Fancher at 715-387-6300 or 212 E. Third Street, Marshfield, WI, 54449; or visit www.hannahcenter.com.
