MARSHFIELD – A Marshfield traffic stop has led to the discovery of a teen reported as a runaway.
The traffic stop was initiated at Wildwood Park and Zoo on Dec. 28 shortly before 2 a.m., when the park was closed.
The officer encountered a 14-year-old girl who was a reported runaway from Marathon County, and a driver who “appeared to be under the influence.” The police report says drug paraphernalia was also found in the vehicle. The driver, 22-year-old Francis Rychtik, of Wausau, was arrested for OWI and concealing a weapon; charges which will now be sought through the Wood County District Attorney’s office.
The girl was returned to her family. Marshfield police are not releasing any more information at this time.
