MARSHFIELD – Kay Schaefer has announced her retirement from the Marshfield Job Center.

For over 38 years, Schaefer has assisted area residents with their employment and training needs, while serving as a job developer, program manager, and most recently, Resource Room associate.

Schaefer experienced many changes throughout her tenure in employment and training services, where she worked with many business closures assisting individuals with computer skills to apply for open positions.

Schaefer said that she liked working with the youth and older workers best because they always “taught her something in return.”

“I’ve met a lot of people over the years. I never know whose lives I may have touched,” Schaefer added.
