MARSHFIELD – Marshfield police officers disabled a vehicle, without further incident, after a high-speed chase through the city.

On Sept. 13, around 10:45 a.m., a Marshfield police officer located a vehicle involved in a recent pursuit with the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department.

Located near East Veterans Parkway and Heritage Drive, the officer attempted a traffic stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued.

The pursuit continued for approximately 8.2 miles through the city of Marshfield, with speeds in excess of 100 mph.

Marshfield police officers conducted several pursuit intervention technique (PIT) maneuvers and deployed a tire deflation device to disable and stop the vehicle.  A 29-year-old male driver was arrested without further incident, with assistance from the Wood County Sheriff’s Department.

The man was transported to Wood County Jail and charges are being referred to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

No other details are available at this time.
