GREENWOOD – The Greenwood Police Department is reporting an attempted child abduction in the city of Greenwood.

On Sept. 8, at about 4:25 p.m., the Greenwood Police Department, along with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a call for an attempted child abduction.

“A female child reported a Maroon SUV/ Van type vehicle with dark rear tinted windows, believe to be occupied by at least two subjects approached an underage female,” Greenwood Police Chief Bernard Bock said in a release. “A passenger exited the vehicle and chased the female.  He is described as a younger white male, with bald head and clean shaven face. He was wearing a white and black one piece jump suit, and white latex gloves.  The child was able to safely escape, and is currently safe.”

This case is currently under investigation, and no further information will be released at this time.
