School board sets referendum for November election

For the Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD –Marshfield School District voters will be asked to approve a $3.5 million referendum this November.
Board member, Kajal Sitwala explained to her colleagues during an Aug. 12 meeting that the referendum, if approved, would replace an existing $3 million referendum, which expires at the end of the upcoming school year.
She said:
Sam Steiner said the financial impact would only amount to a small increase from what taxpayers are currently covering on the existing referendum.
Steiner stated:
If approved, the referendum would allow the district to exceed state revenue limits to keep current programs going at their existing funding levels.
More information on the referendum will be released in the future.
