WOOD COUNTY – An Arpin woman was critically injured after falling from a moving vehicle.

On Aug. 1, at about 4:30 p.m., Wood County deputies responded to the report of a woman who had fallen from a moving vehicle on County Highway N in Wood County.

“Initial information indicated a Jeep was traveling eastbound on County Highway N near Church Road in the Village of Arpin, Wood County,” a Wood County Sheriff’s release said. “A female was only partially inside the Jeep which was being operated by another person. The vehicle was in motion when the female fell from the vehicle.”

The driver, a licensed driver under the age of 18, was not physically injured. The passenger, identified as Megan Korbal, 23, of Arpin, sustained critical injuries.

Korbal was transported by Life Link Ill helicopter to Marshfield Medical Center in critical condition.

The incident is still being investigated by the Wood County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff’s deputies were assisted by Arpin First Responders, Pittsville Ambulance, and Life Link Ill.
