MARSHFIELD – A Marshfield man is in custody after a short standoff with police.
The incident took place 9- 9:30 p.m. on July 4 in a mobile home park at 2215 South Maple Avenue, Marshfield.
Police responded after an 18-year-old Marshfield man called police to say a 27-year-old Marshfield man threatened to shoot him. A standoff ensued when Johnston then retreated to a mobile home on the property and grabbed a BB gun pistol that “resembled a real pistol”, according to the police report.
When officers made contact with the man, he refused to come out, yelling that he would shoot at officers if they didn’t stop knocking. The man eventually came out and officers took him into custody for disorderly conduct and a probation hold.
No injuries were reported.
