Dairyfest 2020 to have a new look
By Hub City Times staff
MARSHFIELD – Marshfield’s annual salute to the dairy industry will look a lot different this year.
The Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry is going ahead with Dairyfest this summer, but with changes in mind because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year’s events will take place the week of July 12- 18, celebrating the theme “Dairy Strong”.
With public safety at the forefront, the 39-year tradition takes on a whole new look for 2020, starting with a “Dairy Strong” breakfast event at the Eagles Club on South Oak Avenue on July 12, 8 a.m. – noon, with carry-out options available, and socially-distanced indoor seating.
During the week, special recognition of the area’s dairy strengths will be highlighted on the chamber’s website and social media outlets.
Food Truck Friday will be held July 17, with mobile restaurants located throughout the community during the day and early evening.
Activities on July 18 will include a reverse parade, 10 a.m. – noon. Individuals and families can drive, bike or walk to participating businesses to view special displays and pick some goodies along the way. A map highlighting participating businesses will be found in a parade bucket sponsored by Marshfield Clinic that can be picked up that day at the fairgrounds starting at 9:45 a.m.
The afternoon and evening will feature entertainment, various food vendors, and a family-friendly drive-in movie at the fairgrounds.
