Louis J. Habenicht, 81 of Milwaukee, WI, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at his home in Marshfield. Louis leaves behind his loving wife of sixty years, Ida (nee Wiesner) Habenicht.
Louis grew up in Milwaukee and then served his country in the United States Marine Corp. After his service, he returned home and worked twenty-nine years for the Milwaukee County. He was a member of the D’ Holzhacker Buam German club and enjoyed bowling, golfing, day trips, and family gatherings.
Upon retirement, he moved to Marshfield with Ida and began to engage more in his hobbies, including gardening, working in the yard and supporting his favorite football team, The Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed life going on long walks with his dog Willie, socializing with friends, trips to casinos and eating at his favorite restaurant. Louis often joked that Marshfield was a PARADISE to him.
Louis fought a long and hard battle with his heart disease, often landing him in situations where his wellbeing was uncertain. However, he persisted over many years and was a true testament of strength and endurance through an otherwise tumultuous path.
He is survived by his wife, daughters, Lori (Henry) Ress and Lynda (Craig) Zebrick, Son-in-law, Dave Mulawa, nine grandchildren, Amanda and Aaron Zebrick, Michael and Michelle Ress, Emily, David, and Daniel Mulawa, Tori and Tanner Habenicht, and nine great- grandchildren. He is further survived by his siblings, brother Robert (Seidy) Habenicht, sister Rosemarie (Walter) Braun, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis Habenicht and Johanna Diet rich, son Keith Habenicht and daughter Luanne Mulawa, brother Frank Habenicht and sister Karen Acevedo.
