WOOD COUNTY – Republican State Senator Tom Tiffany will be the next state representative for Wisconsin’s Seventh Congressional District, filling the seat recently vacated by Sean Duffy.

Tiffany

Tiffany defeated his Democratic challenger, Tricia Zunker, in a May 12 special election.

Tiffany garnered 57 percent of the vote in the district and 58 percent in Wood County, 4,731-3,325.

He won’t have long to enjoy the win, as he is expected to start serving Congress next week.

The special election was called for when Sean Duffy stepped down from the position in September, after serving the district for nearly eight years.

Tiffany, of Minoqua, has served as a Wisconsin state senator since 2012.

He will be back on the ballot again this fall, as Duffy’s term ends this November.
