CENTRAL WISCONSIN — Teach Children to Save Day would typically be held on April 24, but Safer at Home directives had schools practicing online learning. To promote the topic, Prevail Bank has created online materials to provide a resource for teachers and students to learn the importance of saving money for Teach Children to Save May.

The Wisconsin Bankers Foundation supports Wisconsin community banks by providing books each year for the banks to go into the local schools to read to young students and talk about the importance of saving money. This year, Prevail Bank used the children’s book, “It’s a Habit, Sammy Rabbit!” to put together videos, tips, supporting materials and exercises for children to use online at any time of the day.

“We really wanted to help out our local teachers to provide free materials for the students and also still get the message out about the importance of saving, especially at a young age,” states Stacy Retterath, marketing officer at Prevail Bank. “These are unprecedented times, so we needed to go a different route to help our local students still receive the same materials as they would normally in a regular school setting. By everyone working as a team, we can prevail through this pandemic stronger together.”
