United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties to distribute Wood County EFSP funds

WOOD COUNTY – United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties is the fiscal agent for an award from the federal Emergency Management Agency’s Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) for 2020.

Wood County has been awarded $27,083in federal funds made available through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Federal Emergency Management Agency under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program.

Funds are used for direct emergency aid and are distributed through local agencies in Wood County.  Under the terms of the grant from the National EFSP Board, local agencies chosen to receive funds must be private voluntary nonprofits or units of government; be eligible to receive federal funds; have an accounting system; practice nondiscrimination; have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs; and if they are a private voluntary organization, have a voluntary board.

Qualified local emergency aid agencies may request an application by contacting United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties at 715-421-0390 or [email protected].

Completed applications must be received in the United Way office at 351 Oak Street, Wisconsin Rapids, WI, 54494 by May 20 at noon.
