MADISON – Discover Wisconsin will shine the spotlight on destinations that celebrate Wisconsin’s unique dairy heritage throughout the state. As part of an upcoming episode, airing May 2 at 10 a.m. on Fox Sports Wisconsin, Marshfield’s Nasonville Dairy will be featured.

“While the world gets healthy again, the team at Discover Wisconsin stays committed to our mission of sharing the very best of Wisconsin with you. Destination Dairy was a special episode. The dairy industry, as we all know, is such an important part of Wisconsin’s culture and economy,” said co-host Jack Taylor. “I had a blast visiting museums, farms, and cheesemaking facilities. But my favorite part of the episode? Talking with the people in the dairy industry. They were incredibly kind, humble, and welcoming to myself and the rest of the Discover Wisconsin team. I will forever be a supporter of the Wisconsin dairy industry!”

Co-hosts Marie Justice and Jack Taylor kick off the episode at the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center in Manitowoc. In addition to 10,000 feet of exhibit space, filled with interactive and educational activities, the center offers a bus tour of a local dairy farm, and the opportunity to visit the Land O’Lakes Birthing Barn, where visitors can witness a calf being born.

The film crew also visits the National Historic Cheesemaking Center (NHCC) in Monroe to learn about the history of cheesemaking in Wisconsin and Cedar Grove Cheese in Plain.

A visit to Nasonville Dairy, right outside of Marshfield, wraps up the episode.

Ken Heiman is interviewed about Nasonville Dairy’s legacy and dedication to cheesemaking. The show also visits Weber’s Farm Store.

Destination Dairy is also featured in Episode 13 of Discover Wisconsin’s official podcast, The Cabin. The episode premiered April 28.
