Former Marshfield alderman passes away

MARSHFIELD – Former Marshfield alderman Dick Meyer passed away April 27 at the age of 78.

Meyer served on the Marshfield city council 1977-80 and the Marshfield Police and Fire Commission, 1981-87.

Meyer was employed as the manager at the Marshfield JC Penney from 1964-74, while serving in the National Guard – Marshfield Artillery, 1964-69.

He also worked as the Figi’s plant manager, 1974-90. He was an owner/broker of Coldwell Banker, 1991-2002.

Meyer leaves behind his wife, Bonnie, and children: Catherine (Rob) James of Redmond, WA; Michael (Lisa) Meyer of Hancock, MI; and David (Bonnie) Meyer of Marshfield. 

A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield.  The funeral will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes on May 5 at 10:30 a.m.
