MARSHFIELD – The city of Marshfield is expecting to begin an asphalt overlay project on South Oak Avenue, Omaha Street to 14th Street, on April 28. Work is anticipated to be completed on May 29.

The project will consist of replacing failing concrete panels, driveway aprons, crack, and joint repair, paving of a new asphalt surface and painting new pavement markings. Work will be completed one-half at a time in order to maintain one-way northbound traffic.

The city of Marshfield will be providing traffic control on Oak Avenue for this project. Traffic will be reduced to one lane of traffic going in one direction only.  Traffic heading north from West 14th Street will be allowed to use Oak Avenue during the construction project.  Traffic heading south on Oak Avenue from Fourth Street will be detoured at Arlington Street.  The detour will run west on Arlington Street to Adams Avenue.  The detour will then continue south on Adams Avenue to 14th Street, and then on 14th Street to the east until you come back to Oak Avenue.  Other detours may be posted as needed.

Speed will also be reduced to 15 mph during the construction project.
