MARSHFIELD – On April 16, Marshfield’s Melody Gardens hosted a Cotton Candy Character event in the business parking lot at 1200 South Oak Avenue.

“I miss the kids voices, the loud music, the sounds from the video games, the Saturday night couple skates, and the smell of cotton candy,” their Facebook post said.

Families were invited to stop in the evening hours and let their favorite characters, and Melody Gardens staff members, bring cotton candy to their car.

“I have memories of making cotton candy with dad back in the day,” Melody Gardens co-owner, Margie Schmidt said in the post. “He always enjoyed doing that and he still does when he comes down to help us out! I’m going to make cotton candy like dad used to!!”

The Schmidts were also working to add a little fun for area families during Safer at Home.

“We are doing this just so we can have a little bit of fun and get ourselves through this,” Schmidt said at the event.
