WISCONSIN RAPIDS –COVID-19 has many high school seniors facing uncertainty about their plans to start college this fall, and Mid-State Technical College is stepping up to help them explore their options locally.

Mid-State’s “Stay at Home and Stay on Track” free college planning webinars will give participants the opportunity to hear about Mid-State’s resources and transfer options and get help adapting their plans to start college and stay on track to achieving their goals.

According to Vice President of Student Services & Enrollment Management Dr. Mandy Lang, the new webinars add to the list of ways Mid-State is innovating to help students adjust to the impact of COVID-19.

“This webinar series will provide high school seniors and other potential students information as they explore post-secondary options,” Lang said. “During this unprecedented time, student plans and family situations may have changed. Mid-State is here to help students reach their career goals without traveling far from home.”

The college has set a goal to have students ready to celebrate their post-secondary decision on May 1, waiving the application fee through April 30.

The webinars are offered 12:30-1:30 p.m. on the following dates.

April 21 – Start Here. Transfer There.

Learn how Mid-State’s University Transfer Agreement can help you stay close to home while working towards a bachelor’s degree and save in tuition costs.

April 24 – Same Goal. New Path.

Designed for students with changing plans, learn how Mid-State resources are designed to meet your needs while providing the full college experience.

April 28 – Expand Your Knowledge. Enhance Your Savings.

Do you have questions about the FAFSA? Are you wondering what scholarships are available for your program? Mid-State’s experts will guide you through the federal financial aid application and upcoming scholarship window.

Mid-State will also celebrate National Decision Day, on May 1, with special sessions called “Ask. Decide. Apply.” These one-on-one sessions with an outreach coordinator are by appointment and include a walk-through of next steps, answers to questions and free application to the college.
