WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Mid-State Technical College is launching a Manufacturing Operations Management associate degree in full at the Wisconsin Rapids Campus, with many courses also available online or at Adams, Marshfield, and Stevens Point campuses.

The associate of applied science degree is designed to prepare to help those with some prior experience in manufacturing advance into management positions through a mix of manufacturing and business management coursework. It teaches effective oversight of people, processes and operations around strategic objectives that are critical for business growth. Supply chain, automation, quality, lean leadership, and supervisory skills are all emphasized along with creative problem solving and team building.

“Our business partners in central Wisconsin manufacturing have told us they need more management training in order to grow, evolve and thrive,” said Ryan Kawski, Mid-State’s dean of advanced manufacturing & engineering and transportation, agriculture, natural resources & construction. “It’s imperative that Mid-State support their efforts as they work to upskill and develop new leaders, and this program aims to achieve that.”

The Manufacturing Operations Management program is mostly online with some face-to-face manufacturing courses, and financial aid is available. Students can pursue the degree at a full- or part-time pace beginning this fall.
