MARSHFIELD – About 47 percent of Marshfield’s registered voters cast ballots in the spring election and two-thirds of them did so absentee.
According to City Clerk Deb Hall, 4,739 Marshfield residents voted in the April 7 election. Of the nearly 3,500 absentee ballots issued, 2,966 were counted; that compares with the 1,773 people who voted in-person at the polls on election day on April 7.
Hall says the 47 percent turnout compares with 65 percent in the 2016 presidential primary, and 32 percent in 2012.
