MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Area Community Foundation (MACFI) and The Marshfield Area United Way (MAUW) are collaborating to support community organizations with the creation of the Marshfield Area COVID-19 Relief Fund.

The fund will support nonprofit community organizations impacted by the current pandemic. The initial $30,000 for this fund is from MACFI, MAUW, and an anonymous donor – each contributing $10,000.

The COVID-19 Relief Fund will give charitable resources where they are needed most, with an initial focus on food, shelter, and other basic needs.

How to donate

Donors have many options for contributing, including online at marshfieldareacommunityfoundation.org or marshfieldareaunitedway.org.

Checks can be sent to MACFI at PO Box 456, Marshfield, WI, 54449 with “COVID-19 Fund” in the memo line.

Donor Advised Funds thru MACFI can also contribute, by contacting Stacey at 715-384-9029 or macf@marshfieldareacommunityfoundation.org.

Distribution

In a consolidated effort to help those most affected by COVID-19, MACFI is waiving all administrative fees for the relief fund. This means, with the exception of fees charged by banks/credit card companies, that 100 percent of a donor’s gift will be used to help those most affected by COVID-19 in the Marshfield area.

The relief fund will be administered in multiple phases to address immediate and longer-term needs related to this crisis.

“Phase One” priority will be given to organizations working to meet the basic needs of those most significantly impacted by this crisis. Phase One includes proactively identifying grant recipients using input and guidance from organizations and others in the community in order to make grant decisions.

Future grant phases will be communicated as fundraising continues throughout the crisis, making it possible to quickly adapt to evolving needs.

Seeking funds

Eligible organizations can submit a brief grant application for funding at marshfieldareacommunityfoundation.org or marshfieldareaunitedway.org.

Organizations can also contact Stacey, at macf@marshfieldareacommunityfoundation.org or 715-384-9029, for an application.
