STEVENS POINT – Virtual listening sessions will be held in April to gather feedback on attributes and expectations for the next chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Held April 7, and hosted by the UW-Stevens Point Chancellor Search and Screen Committee, the sessions are geared to faculty, staff and students from all three UW-Stevens Point campuses and open to interested community members.

Chancellor Bernie Patterson, who has served UW-Stevens Point since 2010, announced in March that he will retire at the end of this year.

With statewide limits on gatherings, these listening sessions will be held online Tuesday. A series of hour-long listening sessions will begin at 8:30 a.m., 9:40 a.m., 10:50 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:40 p.m.

More information will be available April 6 at www.uwsp.edu/chancellor-search/Pages/default.aspx.

Also on this website will be an online form for community members to provide input on priorities for the university’s 15th chancellor. This form will be available through April 13.

“Please take advantage of this opportunity to help shape the future of UW-Stevens Point,” said Mary Bowman, UW-Stevens Point English professor and Common Council president. She is vice chair of the search committee, chaired by Karen Walsh, a member of the UW System Board of Regents.

“As we continue developing a new strategic plan in the months ahead, our new chancellor will play a pivotal role in implementing it.”
