Marshfield Media Access to host 12-hour Palm Sunday Marathon

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield Media Access, a public television/online media platform, will be broadcasting reruns of past Palm Sunday concerts on Charter Spectrum cable channel 989 beginning April 4, and again on April 11, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. There are also several replays of the concerts planned throughout Holy Week on cable channel 989.

The “12-hour Palm Sunday Marathon” was filmed by local independent producer Mike Weigel and other local producers from the Marshfield area.  The concerts will also available via the Marshfield Media Access website at www.marshfieldmediaaccess.org.

“When I heard the Palm Sunday Concert was going to be canceled, I thought it was a real shame. This has been a Marshfield tradition for more than 60 years and I couldn’t just let go.  One way or another, Marshfield was still going to have its Palm Sunday Concert, so I gathered up at least a half dozen concerts I filmed and brought them to Marshfield Media Access (Public Access) to play as a marathon,” said Mike Weigel.

Marshfield Media Access is a television/online platform overseen by the City of Marshfield’s Communications Department.  The online and television platforms are available to all Marshfield residents to use in several ways – Cable channels 989 and 990, and marshfieldmediaaccess.org.

Marshfield area residents can become a volunteer or independent producer by hosting shows, filming events, providing marketing support, and taking photos.

“This is a great place to learn and engage in the Marshfield community.  We are so proud to provide ‘Access’ to everyone through the use of our Marshfield Media Access platforms,” said Tom Loucks Communications Director for the City of Marshfield.
