MARSHFIELD – Beginning March 18, the Marshfield Clinic Health System YMCA will be closed until April 6. This closure includes 24-hour access.
“In light of the uncertainty created by the increased impact of the coronavirus, closure of schools, and the increased need to provide essential services for the most vulnerable in our community, we are confronted with a moment of truth,” CEO John Nystrom said in a release. “How best can our YMCA serve the community and support efforts to keep our community healthy and safe?
“For over 32 years, we have always been an organization that walked in the direction of a challenge. Today we must focus our resources on those who need us most during this unprecedented time.
“We plan to restore full operations in concert with the Marshfield School District re-opening. It is probable that this date could change as we learn more on the fight against community spread of the coronavirus. This closure is preventative in nature, we have not had a confirmed case or exposure in our YMCA facility at this time. All program/activity participants will be contacted with specific information regarding their registration.
