Chorale performs spring potpourri of music
For the City Times
MARSHFIELD – The Central Chamber Chorale will present a potpourri of songs for their spring concerts.
In the first half, the Chorale performs several works beginning with two rousing Gilbert and Sullivan choruses. Two songs, “Life Has Loveliness to Sell” by James Mullholland and “You Are the Music” by Dan Forrest feature music director, Richard Brunson, on horn, with soloist Riya Bolander. Other pieces include “Rock-a Ma Soul,” with soloist, Mark T. Nelson and “Hark! I Hear the Harps Eternal” with soloist Brittney Yadon.
The second half of the concert features Schubert’s “Mass in G” with many chorale soloists, Valorie Brecht, Beth Walsh, Torin Bolander, Zach Iniguez, and Valerie Hoffman. “The Mass,” composed in 1815, is the best known of Schubert’s “shorter” mass compositions.
The performances are: March 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Wisconsin Rapids; March 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 215 S. Washington Ave., Medford; and March 22 at 3 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 1208 W. 14th St., Marshfield.
