MARSHFIELD – The School District is cancelling events that are considered “non-essential.”
“This includes, for example, but is not necessarily limited to extended field trips, music concerts, dances, student assemblies, banquets, etc.,” the release said.
The district listed the following as examples: Middle School Dance, March 13; Strings Fest, March 15; Middle School Pops Concert, March 20; and Madison Elementary CLC Family Literacy Engagement Night, March 24.
The cancellations are effective through April.
“The status of gatherings and activities thereafter will be reviewed and updated as we get closer to the start of April,” the release stated.
“Regarding athletics and other school-sponsored co-curricular activities, we are assessing the rapidly changing situation and will release a separate statement soon regarding school district plans.”
