MARSHFIELD – There is a new street superintendent overseeing the city’s roadways in Marshfield, and City Administrator Steve Barg says Kris Hawley was selected to fill that position following a closed session of Marshfield’s Common Council.
“At (the March 10) meeting the Marshfield Council did appoint Kris Hawley, the acting street superintendent, to be the street superintendent going forward,” Barg said. “Kris has been with the city for approximately 20 years, having worked in the engineering department for many years, and he’s been in the role of assistant street superintendent for the last few years.”
Hawley replaces Dean Schiller who stepped down from the position last January.
“Kris will assume his duties effective immediately,” Barg added. “He’s got some great ideas how to move the department forward, so all of us are excited to have Kris on board in a permanent capacity now.”
