Columbus Catholic Schools advances 56 WSMA State Solo & Ensemble students

MARSHFIELD – Out of the 73 Columbus Catholic Schools (CCS) band and choir students who competed in the Wisconsin State Music Association (WSMA) Regional Solo & Ensemble Fest, 56 are moving on to the state competition. Of the 58 band students who competed, 53 are moving on to state.
CCS hosted the regional Solo & Ensemble Festival on Feb. 21.
“It is truly awesome to watch these young musicians grow and to know that they are learning to use the abilities that God has given them,” said Tom Zimmerman, CCS Band Director.
“Each of these students have put in lots of time and effort into the music for competition this year and this has shown in their performances as a result,” added Amy Hartl, CCS Choir Director. “I am proud of how hard they have worked to achieve so much and grow as musicians.”
The WSMA State Solo & Ensemble Festival will be May 2 at UW-Stevens Point.
