UWSP at Marshfield Symphony Orchestra concert to feature guest

MARSHFIELD – Celebrate the start of spring with the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Marshfield’s Symphony Orchestra when it performs March 13 at 7:30 p.m., in the Helen Connor Laird Theater, 2000 W. 5th St., Marshfield.
Guest musician Bill Bernatis, on the French horn, will play Richard Strauss’s “First Horn Concerto No. 1.” Bernatis is professor of horn at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; assistant director of UNLV Orchestras; principal horn with the Las Vegas Philharmonic; and assistant principal horn with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra in New York.
The orchestra also will perform the “Overture to the Bartered Bride” by Bedrich Smetana, “Three English Dances” by Roger Quilter and “Symphony No. 2” by Hubert Parry.
