Colby girls basketball ends season

MARSHFIELD – The Colby girls basketball team will not be repeating their trip to state this year after falling to Stevens Point Pacelli on Feb. 28 at home.
The Hornets led the Cardinals in the first half and had a commanding lead of 31-20 at halftime.
Pacelli’s duo of Sarah Mueller and Emma Van Order took control of the scoreboard in the second half and drove the Pacelli Cardinals to a win over Colby, 56-52.
Colby was led by Hailey Voelker, with 16 points, and teammates Emma Peavey and Lexi Krebsbach each put up 13 points for the Hornets.
Van Order had five 3-pointers to get to 25 points for her team and Mueller added 22.
