Wild Rose gets edge over Pittsville in OT

PITTSVILLE – Pittsville hosted the top Central Wisconsin South conference team, Wild Rose, on Feb. 27 where game ended in overtime.

The game was close throughout and Pittsville had a 26-22 lead at halftime. The second half was the same with both teams fighting hard for the lead, until the clock ran out tied at 49.

Overtime ended with Wild Rose getting the conference win, 60-55.

Pittsville’s regular season ends with a 7-5 record in their conference and 16-6 overall. Wild Rose is 11-1 in the conference and 16-6 overall.

Leading the Panthers in the game was Matthew Kissner, with 26 points and 14 rebounds. Landyn Wayerski put up 13 points for the Panthers.

Pittsville will host Marion for the first game in regionals on March 3.
