MARSHFIELD – Marshfield has gone 1-1 in their last two games, falling to Eau Claire Memorial on the road on Feb. 22 and grabbing a win against Rhinelander at home on Feb. 24.

On Feb. 22, the Marshfield Tigers boys basketball team struggled to keep up in the first half and went into the break, down 32-24.

In the second half, Marshfield outscored Memorial but fell just short of the win and took a 56-53 loss.

Joey Goettl hit four 3-pointers in the game to get to his 22 point total for the night. Anthony Posteluk added 13 of his own.

On Feb. 24, the Tigers hosted Rhinelander with a very different ending to their game.

Marshfield had a 30-23 lead after the first half of play. They continued to outscore Rhinelander in the second half and won 63-53.

Addison Hill led the Tigers against Rhinelander, with 19 points. Goettl was right behind him with 17 points, and Posteluk put up 13.

The Tigers moved to 13-8 overall and were 8-3 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. Marshfield will face the 8-3 SPASH Panthers at Stevens Point Area Senior High on Feb. 27.
