Greenwood finds second-half success in win against Columbus

MARSHFIELD – Columbus hosted Greenwood boys basketball on Feb. 18, where the Greenwood team was able to pull away in the second half to secure a win.
The first half ended with Greenwood in a one-point lead, 33-32. The second half was a different story, however, as the Greenwood boys hit their stride and was able to pull away from Columbus and win the game 76-56.
Eden Jacobson, of Columbus, led his team with 29 points.
Greenwood’s Weston Schmitz scored 32 points for his team; Cooper Bredlau added 20 and Nathan Review put up 12.
Greenwood’s record improved to 10-4 in the Cloverbelt Conference; they were 12-7 overall. Columbus’ record fell to 7-7 in conference and 8-11 overall.
Columbus will head to Loyal on Feb. 21 for a conference game while Greenwood hosts Owen-Withee on Feb. 21.
